About

Hi,

I’m Sasha, an interdisciplinary artist with a strong emphasis on theatre, scenography, and performance. Born in Russia, raised in Germany, and currently based in the Netherlands.

From an early age, I was immersed in the world of performance, beginning as a ballet dancer at the age of three before transitioning into acting. My journey eventually led me to become a scenographer and director.

During my Bachelor’s degree in Design, specializing in multimedia stage design, I explored theatrical narration through innovative stagecraft. This foundational training allowed me to produce several theatre plays, including the distinction of being the first student to have a play programmed at the Grand Theatre in Groningen, Netherlands. My early works delved into the integration of pop culture within theatre and the burgeoning realm of digital performance spaces.

I have a keen interest in the intersections of art, theatre, and technology that I deepened during my Master's in Arts and Technology at the Frank Mohr Institute in Groningen, Netherlands. I enjoy researching and experimenting with new forms of theatre.

In addition to my artistic endeavours, I find joy and inspiration in bartending, a hobby that also serves as a side job. I love the atmosphere is authentic old school bars, and the encounters I make help me shape my artistic practice.
